2025 CFMOTO 450CL-C / Bobber Maintenance Schedule and Service Info
This is the maintenance schedule and associated service intervals for the CFMOTO 450CL-C / Bobber. Both names refer to variants of the same underlying platform, based on CFMOTO’s 449cc parallel-twin engine. This is a liquid-cooled, DOHC, fuel-injected two-cylinder motor with a 270-degree crankshaft and dual counterbalancers. It is shared across CFMOTO’s 450-series motorcycles, including:
- CFMOTO 450SS / 450SR: full-fairing sport bike
- CFMOTO 450NK: upright naked bike
- CFMOTO 450CL-C / Bobber: relaxed cruiser platform with belt final drive
Even though it is the same basic platform, the engine is tuned differently across models. In the 450CL-C / Bobber, it is optimized for low-end torque and smooth delivery, producing 30 kW (40 hp) at 8,000 rpm and 42 Nm (31 lb-ft) at 6,250 rpm. All models have the same 72 x 55.2 mm bore and stroke, wet multi-plate slipper clutch, and 6-speed transmission. The CL-C and Bobber use a Gates belt final drive rather than chain.
Two trim variants are available:
- CFMOTO 450CL-C: lower seat height (705 mm), higher curb weight (181 kg), broader color range
- CFMOTO 450CL-C Bobber: higher seat height (715 mm), lighter curb weight (177 kg), more minimal aesthetic
There are no significant model-year changes to engine or service-related components.

CFMOTO 450CL-C / Bobber (2025+) Service Intervals
The basic service interval for the CFMOTO 450CL-C / Bobber is every 6,000 miles / 10,000 km or every 12 months, whichever comes first. At each service, change the engine oil and filter, check and adjust the chain or belt tension, inspect the brake pads and fluid levels, and clean or replace the air filter as needed.
Valve clearance inspection is a major service item and should be done every 24,000 miles / 40,000 km. The 449cc parallel twin engine uses dual overhead cams and is relatively accessible, but still requires careful setup and accurate measurement.
General Notes on Serviceability for the CFMOTO 450CL-C / Bobber
- The 449cc has a liquid-cooled parallel twin with dual overhead camshafts. Access to the valve cover is straightforward, with only one camshaft cover.
- This bike uses a belt final drive, which reduces mess and routine maintenance compared to a chain, but requires tension checks and alignment at regular intervals.
- Oil changes are simple with a standard spin-on filter and easy drain access. Use recommended grade oil and inspect for metal particles during early services.
- Brake system uses J.Juan calipers and standard disc sizes front and rear. Pads are widely available and easy to replace.
- Air filter sits in a conventional airbox under the tank. Cleaning or replacing requires seat and tank removal, but not complex tools. Use caution not to damage filter or intake sensors during reassembly.

About the CFMOTO 450CL-C / Bobber
The CFMOTO 450CL-C is the company’s first real dip into the cruiser pool, and it lands with a splash. Unlike the 450SS sportbike or the upright 450NK, this one trades clip-ons and high-revving antics for low-slung style, a relaxed riding triangle, and a belt final drive. It’s an honest-to-goodness small-displacement cruiser, a relatively rare concept until recent years (mostly dominated by the Honda Rebel, e.g. the Rebel 500)
To keep things simple, the 450 CL-C/Bobber is is built around the same 449cc parallel twin that powers the rest of CFMOTO’s 450 lineup. But it is tuned slightly differently, favouring low-end torque.
That engine is a liquid-cooled DOHC twin with a 270-degree crank, giving it a loping, V-twin-like character — again, rare in the small-displacement market. In this bike, it makes 40 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 42 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. It’s tuned to deliver a smooth and torquey ride, with enough punch for highway speeds and city traffic alike. A six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch round out the drivetrain, and power goes to the rear wheel through a quiet, low-maintenance Gates belt.
The chassis is built on a steel frame with a 37 mm upside-down fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Braking is handled by J.Juan calipers. Four-piston up front on a 320 mm disc, single-piston rear on a 220 mm disc with standard dual-channel ABS and traction control. Tire sizes are 130/90-16 up front and 150/80-16 in the rear, keeping the stance chunky and classic.
The riding position is relaxed and feet-forward, with a low seat height of 705 mm on the standard CL-C and 715 mm on the Bobber. The Bobber is slightly lighter at 177 kg (vs. 181 kg) and comes in a more stripped-down trim with bar-end mirrors and a minimalist vibe. The standard version comes in more color options and leans into retro-cruiser styling with a bit more polish. Both versions share a 3.6-inch round TFT display with Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity, full LED lighting, and anti-theft system.
| Feature | 450CL-C | 450CL-C Bobber |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | 449cc parallel twin, DOHC | Same |
| Crankshaft | 270-degree | Same |
| Power | 30 kW (40 hp) @ 8000 rpm | Same |
| Torque | 42 Nm (31 lb-ft) @ 6250 rpm | Same |
| Transmission | 6-speed, slipper clutch | Same |
| Seat Height | 705 mm | 715 mm |
| Curb Weight | 181 kg | 177 kg |
| Front Suspension | 37 mm USD fork | Same |
| Rear Suspension | Monoshock | Monoshock, preload adjustable |
| Brakes (Front/Rear) | 320 mm / 220 mm J.Juan discs | Same |
Maintenance is straightforward. Oil and filter changes every 6,000 miles / 10,000 km or 12 months, with valve clearance checks every 24,000 miles / 40,000 km. The engine layout is simple, and the belt drive takes a lot of hassle out of routine upkeep. Air filter access requires seat and tank removal but is manageable with basic tools.
For riders looking for a stylish, lightweight cruiser with enough grunt to get around and just enough tech to keep things modern, the 450CL-C punches well above its price tag. The Bobber variant gives you the same ride in a slightly leaner, meaner package. Either way, it’s a welcome addition to a corner of the market that’s been running a little thin.
