Triumph Trident 660 (2026+) Maintenance Schedule and Service Intervals
This is the maintenance schedule and service interval guide for the second-generation Triumph Trident 660, introduced for the 2026 model year.
The original Trident 660 established itself as Triumph’s approachable middleweight roadster: compact, relatively light, and friendly enough for newer riders, but with the sound and flexible power delivery of an inline triple. For 2026, Triumph kept that basic formula while making changes extensive enough to separate the new bike clearly from the 2021-2025 model.
The 660 cc engine retains the same bore and stroke, but almost everything around its breathing and power delivery has been revised. It now uses three individual 44 mm throttle bodies, a larger front-mounted airbox, a reworked cylinder head with larger exhaust valves, higher-lift cam profiles, upgraded cooling, and a new 3-into-1 exhaust. Output rises by 14 PS to 70 kW (95 PS / 94 hp) at 11,250 rpm, while peak torque is 68 Nm (50 lb-ft) at 8,250 rpm.
The redline is 20 percent higher at 12,650 rpm, moving the Trident closer to the performance end of the middleweight class. Triumph nevertheless claims that at least 80 percent of peak torque is available from 3,000 rpm to almost 12,000 rpm, so the broader top end has not come at the expense of the accessible low- and mid-range response that made the earlier bike easy to use.
Chassis and equipment changes are similarly substantial. The revised steel frame carries a new Showa rear shock with preload and rebound adjustment, while wider handlebars improve leverage. Sport joins Road and Rain in the riding-mode menu, and standard equipment includes cornering ABS and traction control, cruise control, Triumph Shift Assist, MyTriumph connectivity, and LED lighting.
The result is still the smaller and more accessible member of the Trident family, sitting below the more powerful Trident 800, but the gap is narrower than before. The 2026 model offers considerably more performance and adjustment while retaining an 810 mm (31.9 in) seat, 195 kg (430 lb) wet weight, and an upright roadster riding position.

2026 Triumph Trident 660 service intervals
At each annual or 16,000 km (10,000 mile) service, replace the engine oil and filter, renew the air filter, drain the airbox and MAP-sensor drain hose, and complete the inspection items below.
Every 32,000 km (20,000 miles), replace the spark plugs and check the valve clearances and camshaft timing. This is also the interval for the wheel bearings, headstock bearings, and rear-suspension linkage. Fork oil and swingarm-spindle lubrication are due at 64,000 km (40,000 miles).

What changed from the 2021-2025 Trident 660?
The regular service cadence is familiar, but several parts and procedures are tied to the new engine and chassis. Do not treat the 2026 bike as mechanically identical to the original model.

Parts and consumables for the 2026+ Trident 660
Some common Triumph consumables carry over, but the larger 2026 airbox changes the air-filter reference. Check the VIN when ordering because dealer catalogues may list both generations under the same model year.

Drive-chain maintenance
Lubricate the chain every 300 km (200 miles), and sooner after riding in rain, on wet roads, after washing, or whenever the chain appears dry. Check chain slack before riding and inspect chain wear at scheduled services.
Generation warning: Triumph revised the gearbox ratios, final drive, and frame for 2026. Use the 2026+ handbook value and adjustment procedure rather than automatically carrying over the first-generation 43-55 mm chain-slack specification or its axle-adjustment torques.

The 2026 Trident 660 has 17-inch cast wheels and Michelin Road 5 tyres. Check pressures cold.

About the second-generation Trident 660
The first Trident 660 was deliberately positioned as an accessible entry point to Triumph’s roadster range. The 2026 redesign preserves its manageable dimensions and everyday usability, but gives the motorcycle a noticeably sportier brief. With 14 PS more power, a much higher redline, a revised chassis, and more standard electronics, it is less of an entry-level motorcycle in specification even though it remains friendly in size and ergonomics.
The updated 660 cc inline triple is the largest part of that change. Moving from one throttle body to three individual 44 mm units gives each cylinder its own intake path, supported by a larger airbox and revised cylinder head. Larger exhaust valves, higher-lift cams, an updated engine tune, and improved cooling help raise output to 70 kW (95 PS / 94 hp) at 11,250 rpm and 68 Nm (50 lb-ft) at 8,250 rpm.
This is not simply a higher peak-power tune. The engine now revs to 12,650 rpm, yet Triumph says at least 80 percent of its peak torque is available from 3,000 rpm to almost 12,000 rpm. That unusually broad spread should preserve the easy response needed in urban riding while giving the new bike a stronger mid-range and a more energetic top end. The larger intake and revised 3-into-1 exhaust also give the triple more induction and exhaust character.
The six-speed transmission has new input and output shafts, revised ratios, and altered final-drive gearing. Triumph Shift Assist has been recalibrated for the new drivetrain, allowing clutchless changes in both directions, while a new slip-and-assist clutch reduces lever effort. An A2 conversion kit is available in Europe, and market-specific LAMS versions are offered in Australia and New Zealand.
The riding position remains upright and compact, but the 2026 bike has wider handlebars for more leverage and a redesigned 14-litre (3.7 US gal) fuel tank with deeper knee cut-outs. Seat height is 810 mm (31.9 in), and wet weight is 195 kg (430 lb). A new split rider and pillion seat, revised headlight assembly, and more muscular bodywork make the second-generation bike easy to distinguish from the original.
At the front, the 41 mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork provides 120 mm (4.7 in) of travel. The new Showa rear suspension unit offers 130 mm (5.1 in) of travel plus preload and rebound adjustment, giving owners more scope to compensate for passengers, luggage, or different riding preferences. Michelin Road 5 tyres are fitted to 17-inch cast-aluminium wheels.
Braking remains deliberately straightforward: twin 310 mm front discs with two-piston Nissin sliding calipers, braided lines, and a span-adjustable lever, plus a 255 mm rear disc. The hardware is less aggressive than the radial four-piston arrangement on the Trident 800, but it is supported by a six-axis IMU and Optimised Cornering ABS. The same sensor also enables lean-sensitive, switchable traction control.
Ride-by-wire throttle supports Sport, Road, and Rain modes, each coordinating throttle response with the ABS and traction-control settings. Cruise control, Triumph Shift Assist, full LED lighting, and the combined colour TFT/LCD display are standard. MyTriumph connectivity adds turn-by-turn navigation plus phone and music control, so the 660’s electronics package is now much closer to that of larger Triumph roadsters.
Cosmic Yellow and Stone Grey are the premium launch colours, with Snowdonia White as the standard finish. The paint choices do not change the mechanical specification or maintenance schedule. Routine servicing remains due every 16,000 km (10,000 miles) or 12 months, but the redesigned intake, airbox, cooling system, gearbox, and chassis mean owners should use 2026+ fitment references rather than ordering service parts for the 2021-2025 model.
