Triumph Trident 800 (2026+) Maintenance Schedule and Service Intervals
This is the maintenance schedule and service interval guide for the Triumph Trident 800, an all-new middleweight roadster introduced for the 2026 model year.
The Trident 800 expands the Trident line beyond the accessible Trident 660, but it is not simply a 660 with a larger bore. Triumph developed a new 798 cc inline three-cylinder engine with three individual throttle bodies, giving the bike substantially more performance while keeping the upright ergonomics and everyday roadster format that define the Trident range.
The engine makes 84.6 kW (115 PS / 113 hp) at 10,750 rpm and 84 Nm (62 lb-ft) at 8,500 rpm, with an 11,500 rpm redline. That puts the Trident 800 between the smaller Trident and Triumph’s more focused Street Triple 765 models: powerful enough to be a serious fast-road motorcycle, but designed around usable midrange, wide handlebars, and a less committed riding position.
Its chassis specification also moves well beyond the entry-level roadster class. The 41 mm Showa SFF-BP fork has compression- and rebound-damping adjustment, the rear shock has preload and rebound adjustment, and the front brake uses twin 310 mm discs with four-piston radial calipers and braided lines. Fully fuelled weight is 198 kg (437 lb), and Michelin Road 6 tyres are standard.
Ride-by-wire throttle supports Sport, Road, and Rain modes, along with lean-sensitive ABS and traction control. Triumph also fits its up-and-down Shift Assist quickshifter, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, LED lighting, and a combined TFT/LCD instrument display as standard.
All three launch colour schemes—Ash Grey, Carnival Red, and Jet Black—use the same engine, chassis, and maintenance schedule. This guide therefore applies to every 2026+ Trident 800 unless Triumph publishes a mechanically different variant or a market-specific schedule.

Triumph Trident 800 service intervals
The main interval is 16,000 km (10,000 miles) or one year. At that point, replace the engine oil and filter, renew the air filter, drain the airbox and MAP-sensor hose, and complete the annual inspection items.
At 32,000 km (20,000 miles), add spark-plug replacement, valve-clearance and camshaft-timing checks, wheel- and headstock-bearing checks, and rear-suspension linkage lubrication. Renew the fork oil and lubricate the swingarm spindle at 64,000 km (40,000 miles).

Drive-chain maintenance
Lubricate the chain every 300 km (200 miles), and sooner after rain, wet roads, washing, or whenever it appears dry. Check slack before riding and inspect chain wear at scheduled services. Measure and adjust slack using the Trident 800 handbook procedure; do not reuse a Trident 660 adjustment value without confirming it for this model.

About the 2026+ Triumph Trident 800
The Trident 800 sits above the Trident 660 as Triumph’s more powerful middleweight roadster. It is aimed at riders who like the compact proportions and straightforward character of the smaller Trident but want considerably more acceleration, stronger chassis hardware, and a broader electronics package. At the same time, its upright ergonomics and road-biased setup make it less specialised than Triumph’s Street Triple 765 models.
The centrepiece is the new 798 cc liquid-cooled inline triple. Three individual throttle bodies help give it a more immediate connection between the throttle and rear wheel, while the 84 Nm (62 lb-ft) torque peak arrives at 8,500 rpm. Peak power is 84.6 kW (115 PS / 113 hp) at 10,750 rpm, and the engine continues to an 11,500 rpm redline. In practice, that specification promises the flexible midrange expected of a Triumph triple without giving up the rev-hungry top end that distinguishes the 800 from the 660.
Drive goes through a six-speed transmission, a slip-and-assist clutch, and chain final drive. Triumph Shift Assist permits clutchless upshifts and downshifts, which is useful both in stop-start riding and when making quick progress on a winding road. The gearing and engine output also make the Trident 800 a more plausible all-rounder for sustained highway use than the smaller-capacity model, even though it remains an unfaired roadster.
The riding position is still recognisably Trident: relatively upright, with wide handlebars, moderate footpeg placement, and a narrow waist where the rider meets the 14-litre (3.7 US gal) fuel tank. Fully fuelled weight is 198 kg (437 lb). That is substantial enough to give the bike a planted feel, but still light for a motorcycle with this level of performance and equipment.
Suspension is by Showa at both ends. The 41 mm SFF-BP inverted fork can be adjusted for compression and rebound damping, while the rear shock provides preload and rebound adjustment. The standard Michelin Road 6 tyres underline the road-focused brief. Braking is handled by twin 310 mm front discs, four-piston radial calipers, and braided lines, a noticeably higher-specification arrangement than the axial-caliper setup used on the Trident 660.
The electronics package is comprehensive without changing the basic character of the motorcycle. Sport, Road, and Rain modes alter throttle response and intervention settings, while lean-sensitive ABS and traction control use the bike’s inertial data to account for cornering. Cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, LED lighting, and the combined TFT/LCD display are standard rather than optional extras.
Visually, the Trident 800 develops the same muscular, compact theme as the 660 with a larger sculpted tank, small headlight cowl, short tail, and upswept silencer. The launch range comprises Ash Grey with Diablo Red details, Carnival Red with Graphite details, and Jet Black; all use gold-finished wheels. These colours do not indicate different mechanical specifications, so the service schedule and consumables in this guide apply across the range.
From an ownership perspective, the extra performance does not bring an unusually short service cadence. Triumph specifies routine servicing every 16,000 km (10,000 miles) or 12 months, with valve-clearance checks at 32,000 km (20,000 miles). The model shares a few service consumables with the latest 660 family, but its engine, airbox, suspension, brakes, and fluid quantities are specific to the Trident 800, so parts should always be ordered for this model rather than assumed interchangeable.
