Harley-Davidson X350 (2024+) Maintenance Schedule and Service Intervals

This is the maintenance schedule and associated service intervals for the Harley-Davidson X350. It applies to both the standard X350 (currently sold in markets such as China, Australia, and New Zealand) and the X350RA, which is a training-specific variant developed for the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy in the United States. Both models share the same fundamental engine and frame, with only minor equipment and tuning differences.

Both versions are based on a liquid-cooled 353cc parallel twin engine, developed in partnership with Qianjiang Motor. This engine has an 11.9:1 compression ratio, a 70.5 mm bore and 45.2 mm stroke, and employs dual overhead cams with four valves per cylinder. Power output varies by region: the X350 produces a claimed 36 hp, while the X350RA is restricted to 23 hp for training purposes.

The Harley-Davidson X350 uses a steel trellis frame and cast aluminum wheels, with a 3.6-gallon fuel tank and six-speed gearbox. Brake components are consistent, with dual petal-style front discs and a single rear disc, all equipped with ABS. The electrical system is basic, with a circular analog speedometer paired to a small digital display.

Harley-Davidson X350 Service Intervals

The basic service interval for the Harley-Davidson X350 is roughly every 3,000-4,000 km or 2,000-2,500 mi. Valve clearance inspection is due every 15,000 miles / 25,000 km. This is a major service, as it requires removing the valve cover and rotating the crank to measure clearances on the eight-valve DOHC parallel twin.

Engine layout is straightforward, and access to the spark plugs and oil filter is relatively open thanks to the trellis frame. Use fresh coolant every two years, and regularly inspect the air filter, especially if riding in dusty conditions.

General Notes on Serviceability of the Harley-Davidson X350

  • The X350 is powered by a liquid-cooled 353cc parallel twin with dual overhead cams and eight valves. Valve clearance inspection is due every 24,000 km. This requires tank and valve cover removal and should be performed with care to avoid damaging the cam chain or valve components.
  • The oil filter and drain plug are easily accessible with the lower cover removed. Use JASO MA2-compliant SAE 15W-50 engine oil and replace the oil and oil filter at every 7,000 km / 4,500 mi service interval.
  • Always use Harley-Davidson approved parts and procedures. Unapproved parts, or changes to the intake or exhaust system, may void the limited warranty or violate emissions regulations.
  • Some markets (e.g. Brazil) may require all scheduled and annual maintenance to maintain warranty compliance. Check with your local Harley-Davidson dealer.
  • At each service, always check for open recalls or product programs, and confirm that the latest ECU calibration is installed.
  • After completing the final interval in the service schedule, repeat starting at the 5,000 km / 3,000 mi mark.

Harley-Davidson X350 2024 Maintenance Schedule Tables

This is the maintenance schedule for the Harley-Davidson X350. The information is taken from official owner’s manual but reorganized here for clarity.

The schedule is divided into three main parts:

  • Break-in service: Performed at 600 miles / 1,000 km at an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer.
  • Regular checks maintenance: This includes tasks recommended every 3,000 – 4,000 km, such as light maintenance like cleaning, adjustments, and inspections.
  • Periodic maintenance: This includes major items that occur less frequently, such as valve clearance inspection, spark plug replacement, and brake fluid replacement. These tasks often require more disassembly or specialized tools.

Break-in Service

The break-in service is usually carried out by the dealer under warranty. It should be completed at 600 miles / 1,000 km by an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer.

Notes:

  • If riding in dusty conditions, the air filter service interval should be performed more frequently: the first service at 500 kilometers, followed by cleaning every 1,000 kilometers.
  • When riding on rough roads or in harsh conditions, inspect and service the wheels, rims, and fasteners more frequently to maintain safe operation and optimal performance.

*Service should be performed by the sales department or an authorized service center. The owner must have the proper tools and diagnostic equipment, and repairs should only be carried out by a certified technician.
**For safety reasons, all items marked with double asterisks (**) must be serviced by the sales department or an authorized service center.

About the Harley-Davidson X350

The Harley-Davidson X350 is a new kind of Harley. It’s a liquid-cooled, small-displacement parallel twin built with urban riders, commuters, and learners in mind. Built in partnership with QJ Motor, the X350 is aimed at new markets and new riders, but still carries the Bar and Shield on the tank and a touch of flat-track DNA in its stance.

At the heart of the X350 is a 353cc DOHC parallel twin, putting out 36 horsepower at 9500 rpm and 31 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. It’s a compact engine with an 11.9:1 compression ratio and a 6-speed gearbox, feeding power through a chain final drive. Fueling is handled by electronic sequential port injection, and a 2-into-1 exhaust system keeps the emissions in check while leaving just enough bark.

It’s a lightweight machine at 195 kg wet, with a low seat height of 777 mm that makes it accessible to newer riders. Ground clearance is a healthy 143 mm, and the rake and trail give it a sporty 24.8°/140 mm setup. The riding position is neutral and upright, thanks to mid-mounted pegs and a wide bar on riser making it practical for city work, lane filtering, or weekend twisties.

Suspension is more serious than you might expect: a 41mm upside-down fork up front, rebound adjustable, and a preload- and rebound-adjustable rear shock with gas/oil separation. Braking is handled by twin 4-piston calipers up front and a single-piston rear, with ABS standard.

Instrumentation is simple but effective, with a single round pod that includes analog and digital readouts for speed, rpm, trip meters, fuel economy, and more. All lighting is LED, including the headlight, indicators, and brake lights.

Compared to its bigger sibling, the Harley-Davidson X500, the X350 is lighter and lower, with a shorter wheelbase and a more rev-happy engine character. The X500 gets more displacement, more torque, and more top-end, but it also adds 13 kg and a taller 820 mm seat height. The X500 also features a beefier 50mm fork and slightly more refined gearing. Riders deciding between the two should consider their experience level and intended use. The X350 is more agile in traffic and more forgiving, while the X500 delivers stronger highway performance.

Harley-Davidson X350 vs Harley-Davidson X500 Comparison Table

Maintenance on the X350 is straightforward basic checks every 3,000 – 4,000 km, oil changes every 7,000 km, and valve clearance inspection every 24,000 km. Everything is easy to access once the tank is off, and the trellis frame leaves room to work.

The X350 might not look or sound like a traditional Harley, but it opens the door for a new kind of rider to join the family. It’s for those who want nimble handling, a compact chassis, and just enough punch to keep things fun. It’s a real-world bike that knows exactly what it’s for.
