Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S (2025+, 890cc) Maintenance Schedule and Service Intervals

This is the maintenance schedule and associated service intervals for the new-for-2025 Ducati Streetfighter V2 and V2S. Both versions are based on the downsized 890cc V2 engine — a new engine generation, taking over from the Superquadro.

The Streetfighter V2/V2S (890) takes over from the outgoing, well-loved, and relatively long-reigning Streetfighter powered by the 955 cc Superquadro engine. Ducati has sunsetted the Superquadro in all its bikes as of 2025.

The Ducati Streetfighter V2 and V2S are the middleweight naked sport bikes in Ducati’s lineup, combining Panigale-derived performance with more street-oriented ergonomics. The Streetfighter has the same chassis and engine as the Panigale V2 but has a wider handlebar, a (slightly) less aggressive riding position, and minimal fairings to suit daily road use or weekend canyon rides.

Here are the models covered by this maintenance schedule:

  • Ducati Streetfighter V2 — the standard version, with fully adjustable Showa Big Piston Fork and Sachs rear shock.
  • Ducati Streetfighter V2S — the higher-spec variant with Öhlins electronically adjustable suspension and lightweight forged wheels.

These motorcycles are not only closely related to the Panigale V2 but also share much of their maintenance architecture — including the same Desmodromic timing system and valve service intervals. Despite being high-performance motorcycles, the Streetfighter V2 and V2S are tuned for more tractable street power delivery compared to their full-faired sibling.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S (2025+, 890cc V2) Service Intervals

Ducati has kept the same overall big-picture service intervals for the 890 cc engine but made a number of tweaks.

The service intervals for the 2025+ Ducati Streetfighter V2 and V2S include a minor (oil change + comprehensive check) service every 15,000 km / 9,000 miles or 24 months, whichever comes first, and a full valve clearance inspection every 30,000 km / 18,000 miles.

Ducati also requires a first service at 1,000 km / 600 miles. At this service, the oil and filter are replaced, and a dealer performs diagnostic checks and resets the service light. This isn’t included below as the dealer nearly always takes care of it.

Here are the core service intervals:

  • Oil service 1000: 1,000 km/600 mi or within 6 months of delivery
  • Oil Service: Every 15,000 km/9,000 mi or 24 months
  • Valve Check: Every 30,000 km/18,000 mi
  • Service Check: Every 12 months

Regular maintenance for the 2025+ Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S

This is maintenance that you can do yourself.

Assuming you ride in everyday conditions (on sealed roads, under “normal” engine stress, every 1000 km/600 miles OR 6 months (whichever comes earlier), perform the following maintenance:

2025+ Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S — Regular maintenance
Check engine oil level (Motul 300V 15W-50)
Check brake fluid level (Castrol DOT 4)
Check tyre pressure and wear (see below for recommended pressures)
Check the drive chain tension and lubrication (Motul chain paste)
Check brake pads and replace if necessary

Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S (2025+, 890 cc) Maintenance Schedule Table

Below is the maintenance schedule for the 2025+ Ducati Streetfighter V2 and V2S with the 890cc V2 engine, based on information from the official 2025 Ducati Streetfighter owner’s manual.

This schedule is for road use only. If you ride it on track (even occasionally), service it more frequently due to increased wear and stress. You can also get tailored guidance from a Ducati service center depending on your riding conditions.

A few notes about maintaining the Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S:

  • There are two main services: the Oil Service, every 15,000 km (9,000 mi) or 24 months, and the Valve Service, every 30,000 km (18,000 mi).
  • The Oil Service 1000 is a mandatory break-in service at 1,000 km (600 mi) or 6 months from delivery.
  • Some items like the chain and brake fluid are time- and use-dependent. For example, Ducati recommends replacing the final drive chain kit around 20,000 km (12,000 mi).
  • Items marked [D] require Ducati diagnostic tools or dealer-only procedures (e.g., DDS diagnostics, resetting service lights, software updates).

This table simplifies the factory maintenance guidelines into an easy-to-read format, putting important items like oil changes and valve checks up front, and grouping related checks.

About the Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S (2025+, V90)

2025 Ducati Streetfighter V2 Static
Ducati Streetfighter V2 / V2S

The Ducati Streetfighter V2 is what happens when Bologna’s finest take the razor-sharp Panigale V2, rip off the fairings, throw on a wide handlebar, and tune it for the street without killing the thrill. The result? A beautifully unhinged middleweight naked sportbike that’s just as happy carving up canyon roads as it is making the daily grind feel like a MotoGP warm-up lap.

This is Ducati’s “Fight Formula” boiled down to its twin-cylinder essence. It uses the same 890 cc V2 engine as the revised Panigale V2, making 88 kW / 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and 93 Nm (69 lb-ft) of torque at peak. The Streetfighter shares a lot with the Panigale V2 / V2S. The

If you’re wondering how it feels: it’s a torque-rich twin that pulls hard from the bottom and keeps revving far longer than you’d expect from a V-twin. There’s none of the herky-jerky throttle response of some older Ducatis, either — this one is buttery smooth and surprisingly forgiving. Early ride reports (e.g. Cycle World) say you can dawdle in traffic or pin it on a twisty road and it just works.

The star of the show is the 890 cc V-twin with Intake Variable Timing. This is the first Streetfighter without desmodromic timing – timing is done with a traditional spring and finger follower valve train. This system brings valve clearance checks down to 18000 miles / 30000 km, like most normal motorcycles, and makes the job easier (there are half the clearances to check). Ducati say it’s the lightest and smallest V-twin they have ever made.

Of course, many pundits were quick to complain about the obvious: less power? Less engine? Sure, less weight. But also… more swingarm? The 890cc 2025+ Streetfighter definitely looks watered down. But the truth is that the Streetfighter has changed a lot since its first generation with the bonkers 1098 cc V-twin. But the huge weight savings are likely to tickle a lot of people’s fancies.

The Streetfighter V2 / V2S has most of the electronics of its bigger sibling, the Streetfighter V4, but it does miss out on semi-active suspension.
